Intimate appearance
What is immediately striking about the Zuiderflank and Scheldekaai buildings is their intimate, secure appearance. Although they are two buildings, with different heights and orientations, they form one L-shaped entity structurally.
Streamlined and smooth appearance
The slightly undulating lines in the architecture of Zuiderflank and Scheldekaai give the buildings a streamlined appearance. Thanks to the deep terraces, the project exudes intimacy and security. At the same time, the large windows provide beautiful views from inside: on one side on the Scheldt, on the other side on the beautiful park garden.
For the balconies of Zuiderflank and Scheldekaai, which are 1.6 to 3.2 meters deep, no less than 2,700 square meters of smooth white concrete was used, which was anchored to the facades. The buildings share their basement not only with each other, but also with the Scheldezicht residential tower next door.
Did you know that during the works on Scheldekaai, remnants of a centuries-old shipyard were uncovered? The archaeological discovery did not cause any delays in the construction works: the archaeological investigation - which took about four weeks - was taken into account in advance.
