HÅVN
HÅVN is a design by Swedish architect Johannes Norlander. It is his first design outside his home country. The building was completed in 2021 and has 56 apartments.
In the design process of HÅVN the Scheldt played an important role. The building is 90 meters long and was constructed to be very transparent. Norlander wanted to create a building without a back, in which all the facades are the same. HÅVN stretches between north and south, ensuring perfect sun conditions. All apartments will receive sunlight at all hours of the day. This is something that Norlander, as an architect, considers very important.
All the concrete in this building was cast on site. This has a very big impact on the look of the building, because it gives it a very high-quality look. You can really see and feel the craftsmanship.
Did you know that there is a 160m running track on the roof? There the residents - and unfortunately only the residents - can exercise with a view of the beautiful Scheldt.
The design of HÅVN is clear and simple, and also beautiful to look at. An impressive and timeless building, with finishes at the highest level. A typical example of Scandinavian design, based on reduction. The architect tried to develop a harmonious building with as few materials as possible. When you look at the building, you immediately see the architect’s signature style, reducing everything to its essence. There must be a good reason for particular elements to be added to a building.
